Doctors predicted a year - long recovery period , but Saini defied the odds once again by returning to her dance classes after just two weeks . Her ability to overcome adversity showcases her strength and unwavering spirit . 

Saini's pursuit of education led her to the University of Washington , where she further honed her skills as a trained ballerina . Her talent and dedication were recognized when she was accepted to train at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet . This achievement is a testament to her hard work and commitment to her craft .

Nevertheless , she persevered and in 2021 , she was appointed as Miss World America becoming the first Indian - American to hold this prestigious title .

She impressed the judges and finished as the first runner -up , with Karolina Bielawska of Poland winning the crown .
